Development of sustainable trade structures in Uganda

Our sustainable trade program was launched in 2011. We work with 4,000 people in the Ugandan region of Rwenzori to create the conditions there so that parents can offer their children an education.

At TK Maxx, we want to support parents in giving their children a primary school education. In order to achieve this goal, we help them to generate higher yields in the cultivation and sale of coffee, cocoa and cotton as well as handicrafts. We are proud to be able to sell the products of our Ugandan partners in our stores - from award-winning Rwenzori coffee to traditional handicrafts.

Our ‘Made To Do Good’ range

Our beautiful baskets are made according to traditional craftsmanship. The income from the sale of just two baskets will finance a child's school attendance for an entire school year.

We work with more than 1,000 coffee farmers in the Rwenzori mountain region of western Uganda. As part of our cooperation, the farmers were able to increase their harvest yields by up to 20%.

With the sale of our fair-trade single-origin chocolate, we secure a vital income for Ugandan families and ensure that their children can go to school.

We have achieved a lot

Since the start of the project, more than 4,000 local people have earned a higher income. This has given many children the opportunity to complete their primary school education.
If you also include the other family members, more than 28,000 people have indirectly benefited from our initiative.
